STATEMENT OF PRINCIPAL REASONS
FOR
Amendments to Chapter 11 of Wyoming Insurance Department Regulation
Rules Governing Filings Of Forms For Property. Casualty. Surety. Marine and Transportation Insurance
The amendments to this Chapter, entitled Rules Goyerning Filings of Forms For Property. Casualty. Surety. Marine and Transportation Insurance, are to change the requirement from a yearly exemption filing requirement to a single filing and to the chapter numbering and the chapter pagination.
Section 6(a) presently requires a yearly filing on the part of companies subject to this regulation. There are presently approximately twenty (20) companies so subject. The statute from which this regulation is derived does not require yearly exemption filings. The proposed amendments will allow for a onetime exemption filing subject to the other provisions of the Wyoming Insurance Code and Regulations for withdrawal of the exemption by a company or revocation or suspension by the Wyoming Insurance Department. These changes will result in less paperwork for the companies and for the State of Wyoming without limiting this department's authority as a regulatory agency. Presently the Chapter is designated by the Roman number symbol "XI." It will be amended to be designated by the Arabic number symbol "11."
Pagination of the chapter will be amended from the present continuous and sequential numbering from chapter-to-chapter, to chapter-specific numbering. As an example, each page will be designated first by a chapter number and then page number, as in 11-1, 11-2, 11-3, etc. Amending the method by which the pages are numbered will allow for simpler amendments in the future, and for easier reader identification of the chapter and pages with which they are concerned.
