Section PI 34.063 - American Indian language and culture - school counselor license

(1) AUTHORIZATION. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to serve as a school counselor in a American Indian language and culture program.
(2) ELIGIBILITY. The state superintendent may issue an American Indian language and culture - school counselor license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
(a) The applicant holds or is eligible for a
license as a counselor under s. PI 34.059.
(b) The applicant is recommended for the
license by the employing school district administrator or the employing
administrator of an alternative school.
(c) The applicant is recommended for the
license by one of the following entities, as determined by the associated
tribal government:
1. The tribal
council.
2. The tribal language
division.
3. The local American
Indian parent advisory committee.
(d) The applicant provides the state
superintendent with evidence of possessing knowledge and understanding of the
culture and traditions of the target population.
