Section PI 34.074 - Adaptive education

(1) AUTHORIZATION. A license issued under this section authorizes an individual to teach adaptive education in a regular education setting in kindergarten through grade 12.
(2) ELIGIBILITY. The state superintendent may issue an adaptive education license under this section to an applicant who completed an approved education preparation program which included all of the following:
(a) Had a concentration in adaptive
education.
(b) Demonstrated
knowledge and understanding in all of the following:
1. The psychology and nature of a child with
a disability.
2. Modification of
content, instructional strategies, and learning environments for children with
disabilities and other children with special needs in the regular education
setting.
3. A clinical program in
adaptive education.
