Figure No. 1 located in the Appendix shall be used for determining minimum pump capacities for domestic service only, unless specific information is submitted to the department for review and the department approves the alternate pump capacities. When using Figure No. 1, the number of homes may be reduced by one-third for apartment units, condominium units, and manufactured or mobile homes. As an alternative, for apartment units, condominium units, and manufactured or mobile homes, the minimum pump capacity may be reduced to 1 gallon per minute per living unit. The department may require the water system owner to perform more detailed engineering studies to determine pump capacities for multiple uses, including domestic, commercial, and industrial usage and fire protection.
