(1) SOLAR EVAPORATION.

(a) Except as provided in 40 CFR 125.30 to 125.32 and par. (b), any existing point source subject to this subchapter which uses the solar evaporation procedure may not discharge process wastewater pollutants to waters of the state.

(b) If no additional pollutants are added to the bitterns during production of sodium chloride, unused bitterns may be returned to the body of water from which the process brine solution was originally withdrawn.
