Section NR 268.10 - Effluent limitation, best practicable treatment

The following effluent limitations for all or specific subcategories establish, except as provided in subch. IV of ch. NR 220, the quantity or quality of pollutants or pollutant properties which may be discharged by a facility subject to the provisions of this chapter after application to process wastes of the best practicable control technology currently available.

(1) There shall be no discharge of pollutants resulting from activities in subcategory (1).

(2) The pH of discharges from subcategories (2), (3) and (4) shall be within the range of 6.0 to 9.0.

(3) The concentration of pollutants in discharges from subcategories (2), (3) and (4) shall not exceed 30 day average and daily maximum values of:

(a) 3.5 and 7.0 respectively for total iron, and

(b) 35 and 70 mg/l respectively for total suspended solids.

(4) The concentration of dissolved iron in discharges from subcategory (3) shall not exceed 30 day average and daily maximum values of 0.30 and 0.60 mg/l respectively.

(5) The concentration of total manganese in discharges from subcategories (2) and (3) shall not exceed 30 day average and daily maximum values of 2.0 and 4.0 mg/l respectively.
