Section NR 254.012 - Effluent limitations representing the degree of effluent reduction attainable by the application of the best practicable control technology currently available

(1) Except as provided in 40 CFR 125.30 to 125.32, any existing source subject to this subchapter shall achieve the effluent limitations set forth in sub. (2), (3), or (4) representing the degree of effluent reduction attainable by the application of BPT.

(2) IRON AND STEEL BYPRODUCT COKEMAKING.

(a) The following BPT effluent limitations apply:

(1) Within the range of 6.0 to 9.0

(b) Increased loadings, not to exceed 11% above the limitations in par. (a), are allowed for plants which have wet desulfurization systems but only to the extent that such systems generate an increased effluent volume.

(c) Increased loadings, not to exceed 27% above the limitations in par. (a), are allowed for plants which include indirect ammonia recovery systems but only to the extent that such systems generate an increased effluent volume.

(3) MERCHANT BYPRODUCT COKEMAKING.

(a) The following BPT effluent limitations apply:

(4) BEEHIVE COKEMAKING. Beehive cokemaking operations may not discharge process wastewaters to waters of the state.
