Only counties and tribal governing bodies are eligible to apply for a County Lake Grant.
Though s. 281.69(5) directs this subprogram to counties only, s. 20.002(13) provides that any state grant program available to a local government may also be made available to a tribal governing body as defined in this chapter. The scope of a lake classification project for a tribal governing body under this chapter would be limited to the geographic area within the tribe's reservation boundary.
