A fair may establish entry classes for cats in any of the categories specified under subs. (1) and (2). Mixed breed and purebred cats shall be shown in the same class unless the number of entries warrants the creation of separate classes. A fair may establish additional purebred classes if more than 6 purebreds would otherwise be shown in any class. For each class established under this section a fair may receive state aid for first-place to fourth-place premiums of $2.00, $1.75, $1.50 and $1.25, respectively.

(1) A fair may establish entry classes for kittens 4 to 12 months old in any of the following categories:

(a) Male kittens; short hair.

(b) Male kittens; long hair.

(c) Female kittens; short hair.

(d) Female kittens; long hair.

(2) A fair may establish entry classes for adult cats over 12 months old in any of the following categories:

(a) Unspayed female cats; short hair.

(b) Unspayed female cats; long hair.

(c) Spayed or neutered cats; short hair.

(d) Spayed or neutered cats; long hair.
