Title 127 - LEGISLATIVE RULE WEST VIRGINIA SECONDARY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION

Section 127-1-3 - Goals

3.1. This Commission, through the employment of the instrumentalities hereinafter established, shall supervise and control interscholastic athletics and band activities among member schools.
3.2. In the performance of these functions it shall be the aim of the Commission:
3.2.a. To
stress the cultural values, appreciations, and skills involved in these
interscholastic activities, and to promote cooperation and
friendship;
3.2.b. To limit these
interscholastic activities in both character and quantity so that these
activities and events may be looked upon as promoting the objectives of
secondary education, and as such shall not interfere with nor abridge the
regular program of teachers and students in the performance of their
duties;
3.2.c. To encourage economy
in expenses of these interscholastic activities;
3.2.d. To discourage long trips for
interscholastic activities; and
3.2.e. To establish minimum standards of
conduct for both active and spectator participants, coaches, and all other
school personnel at all interscholastic activities approved, sponsored, or
controlled by this Commission.
