Title 126 - PROCEDURAL RULE BOARD OF EDUCATION

Section 126-187-1 - General

1.1 Scope

The Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act, P. L. 98-524, Title I, Part A, Vocational Assistance to the States, requires that the West Virginia Board of Education establish at least two (2) technical committees in consultation with the West Virginia Council on Vocational Education. The purposes of the technical committees are (1) to advise the West Virginia Council on Vocational Education and the West Virginia Board of Education on the development of model curricula to address West Virginia labor market needs and (2) to develop an inventory of skills that may be used by the West Virginia Board of Education to define state-of-the-art model curricula. The inventory must identify the type and level of knowledge and skills needed for entry, retention, and advancement in occupational areas taught in West Virginia.
