Section 126-10-2 - Purpose

2.1. The West Virginia Freedom of Information Act (W. Va. Code '29-1-1) provides that persons have a right to inspect or copy any public record of the State Board or Department of Education. W. Va. Code '29B-1-2 provides that a A public record includes any writing containing information related to the conduct of the public's business, prepared, owned and retained by a public body.@ W. Va. Code '29B-1-3(5) provides that the State Board and/or Department A...may establish fees reasonably calculated to reimburse it for its actual cost in making reproductions of such records.@
