1.1. Scope. -- This rule applies only to the solicitation or sale of any life insurance or annuity product by an insurer or insurance producer to an active duty service member of the United States Armed Forces.
a. The purpose of this rule is
to set forth standards to protect active duty service members of the United States
Armed Forces from dishonest and predatory insurance sales practices by declaring
certain identified practices to be false, misleading, deceptive or unfair.
b. Nothing herein shall be construed to create or
imply a private cause of action for a violation of this rule.
1.2. Authority. -- W. Va. Code §§ 33-2-10 and 33-4-21.
1.3. Filing Date. -- May 5, 2008.
1.4. Effective Date. -- August 1, 2008.
