ELIGIBILITY FOR DUAL MEMBER BENEFITS
Section 415-113-042 - What can terminate my status as a dual member?

(1) If you terminate your status as a participating member, you also terminate your status as a dual member. If you are no longer a member participant in any dual member system, you are no longer a dual member. If you later become a member of a dual member system, you again become a dual member.

Upon separation from TRS Plan 2 eligible employment, the person in Example 1 (see WAC 415-113-041) is no longer a member of TRS Plan 2 nor a dual member. |
(2) If you retire, you are no longer a dual member. When you retire from any or all dual member systems, you are no longer a dual member except for the purpose of receiving a deferred retirement allowance under RCW 41.54.030(3) and WAC 415-113-070.
(3) If you terminate dual membership, you may still be eligible to receive a multiple system benefit if otherwise eligible. The accrual date of your retirement allowance will vary depending upon the provisions of the particular system.
