Section 415-112-270 - In TRS Plan 1, may I receive service credit for professional preparation?

As a TRS Plan 1 member, you may be eligible for service credit for additional study at an institution of higher learning or a commercial or technical school where the courses supplement your professional preparation.

The department considers thirty-six quarter hours or twenty-four semester hours of credit, or the equivalent, as one year of service credit. Fewer academic credits may be converted into a fraction of a year of service credit.
