Chapter 30-41 - Poet laureate program
Section 30-41-010 - Purpose

The Washington state arts commission is authorized by RCW 43.46.081 to establish and administer the poet laureate program. The poet laureate shall serve a two-year term, and engage in activities to promote and encourage poetry within the state, including, but not limited to, readings, workshops, lectures, and/or presentations for educational institutions and communities in geographically diverse areas.
