Chapter 246-926 - Radiologic imaging professionals
Section 246-926-095 - Diagnostic radiologic, therapeutic radiologic, and nuclear medicine technologists-Certification

(1) To obtain certification as a diagnostic radiologic technologist, an applicant must submit:
(a) A completed application on forms provided
by the secretary;
(b) Proof of
successfully passing an examination in radiography listed in WAC
246-926-135;
(c) Proof of completed education in one of
the following:
(i) A course of instruction
from a school that has received accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on
Education in Radiologic Technology or the former American Medical Association
Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation;
(ii) Military education, training, and
experience listed in WAC
246-926-155; or
(iii) Alternative training listed in WAC
246-926-100 and
246-926-110;
(d) Written verification of any licenses
held, submitted directly from that licensing entity;
(e) Applicable fees defined in WAC
246-926-990; and
(f) Any other information determined by the
secretary.
(2) To obtain certification as a therapeutic radiologic technologist, an applicant must submit:
(a) A completed application on forms
provided by the secretary;
(b)
Proof of successfully passing an examination in radiation therapy technology
listed in WAC
246-926-135;
(c) Proof of completed education in one of
the following:
(i) A course of instruction
from a school that has received accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on
Education in Radiologic Technology or the former American Medical Association
Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation;
(ii) Military education, training, and
experience listed in WAC
246-926-155; or
(iii) Alternative training listed in WAC
246-926-100 and
246-926-120;
(d) Written verification of any licenses
held, submitted directly from that licensing entity;
(e) Applicable fees defined in WAC
246-926-990; and
(f) Any other information determined by the
secretary.
(3) To obtain certification as a nuclear medicine technologist, an applicant must submit:
(a) A completed application on forms provided
by the secretary;
(b) Proof of
successfully passing an examination in nuclear medicine listed in WAC
246-926-135 or by the
NMTCB;
(c) Proof of completed
education in one of the following:
(i) A
course of instruction from a school that has received accreditation by the
Joint Review Committee for Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology
or the former American Medical Association Committee on Allied Health Education
and Accreditation; or
(ii) Military
education, training, and experience listed in WAC
246-926-155; or
(iii) Alternative training listed in WAC
246-926-100 and
246-926-130;
(d) Written verification of any licenses
held, submitted directly from that licensing entity;
(e) Applicable fees defined in WAC
246-926-990; and
(f) Any other information determined by the
secretary.
