BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION

(1) A CBT shall not:
(a) Initiate or implement a treatment program
with a client until the client has been evaluated and a written treatment and
instructional program has been prepared by an LBA, LABA, or individual
otherwise qualified to practice in ABA consistent with
RCW
18.380.030(1);
(b) Independently perform a client assessment
or evaluation, but may assist in the process under the direction of an LBA or
LABA; and
(c) Independently design
or modify client treatment plans or instructional programs.
(2) A CBT shall:
(a) Monitor the need for reassessment and
report changes in status that may warrant reassessment or referral by or under
the direction of an LBA, LABA, or individual otherwise qualified to practice in
ABA consistent with
RCW
18.380.030(1); and
(b) Immediately discontinue and notify the
supervising LBA, LABA, or individual otherwise qualified to practice in ABA
consistent with
RCW
18.380.030(1) about any
treatment procedure that appears harmful to the client.
