Section 182-546-6100 - Nonemergency transportation-Noncovered

(1) The medicaid agency does not cover nonemergency transportation that is not specifically addressed in WAC 182-546-5000 through 182-546-6200.

(2) Brokers do not provide nonemergency transportation for admissions under the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) , as defined in WAC 182-546-4000.

(3) The agency does not provide escorts or cover the cost of wages of escorts.

(4) The agency does not cover the purchase or repair of equipment for privately owned vehicles or modifications of privately owned vehicles under the none-mergency transportation program. The purchase or repair of equipment for a privately owned vehicle or modification of a privately owned vehicle is not a health care service. Exception to rule (ETR) as described in WAC 182-501-0160 is not available for equipment that is not a health care service.
