Agency 65 - OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY
Old Dominion University offers 168 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, including 41 doctoral programs. The campus is located in Norfolk, Virginia. The board of visitors is authorized to make all needful rules and regulations concerning the university. Code of Virginia, Title 23, Chapter 5.2.
The board of visitors or other governing body of every state-supported institution of higher education in Virginia is authorized to establish rules and regulations for the acceptance of students; for the conduct of students and the suspension and dismissal of students who fail or refuse to abide by such rules; for the rescission or restriction of financial aid; for the employment of professors, teachers, instructors and all other employees; and for parking and traffic on property owned by the institution.
The board of visitors or other governing body is required to establish policies and procedures regarding a dependent student's receipt of mental health treatment at the student health or counseling center under certain circumstances and regarding the release of a dependent student's educational record.
The board of visitors or other governing body is authorized to establish programs to promote compliance among students with laws relating to the use of alcoholic beverages; to establish guidelines for the initiation or induction into any social fraternity or sorority; and to promote the awareness and prevention of sexual crimes committed upon students.
