Section 22VAC40-890-80 - Expedited review of human research participants

A. The committee is authorized to conduct an expedited review of a human research project which involves no more than minimal risk to the participants if:
1. The
research review committee affiliated with another state department, local
agency, licensed facility or institution has reviewed and approved the project;
or
2. The review involves only
minor changes in previously approved research and the changes occur during the
approved project period.
B. The committee shall adopt a method for keeping all members advised of research proposals which have been approved under the procedure.
