Section 22VAC40-61-160 - First aid and CPR certification

A. First aid.
B. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. There shall be at least two direct care staff on the premises at all times who have current certification in CPR from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, American Safety and Health Institute, community college, hospital, volunteer rescue squad, or fire department. The certification must either be in adult CPR or include adult CPR. To be considered current, the certification must have been issued within the past two years.
C. A staff person with current certification in first aid and CPR shall be present for the duration of center-sponsored activities off the center premises.
D. Direct care staff employed by the center prior to December 29, 2019, who do not meet the requirement of subsections A and B of this section shall do so by March 27, 2020.
