The commission shall elect from its membership at its regular January meeting, or as soon thereafter as possible, a n chair and a vice n chair, who shall serve terms of one year, or until their successors are elected. In the event of a vacancy occurring in the office of n chair or vice chair, for any cause, the commission shall fill the same by election for the unexpired term. The n chair shall preside at all meetings, presentations, and public hearings held by the commission unless absent. In the absence of the n chair, the vice n chair shall preside at any meeting or other assembly of the commission and shall exercise all powers and duties of the n chair. In the event that the n chair and vice n chair are absent for a meeting or other assembly of the commission, the remaining members of the commission shall elect a temporary n chair who shall exercise all powers and duties of the n chair for the duration of the meeting or assembly.
