Eligibility for WIC Program

"Vermonters are entitled to the full benefits of the Vermont WIC Program on a first-come, first-served basis, up to the maximum funding and caseload allowed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, if they meet all of the following eligibility standards:

1. Participants must be residents of the State of Vermont.

2. Participants must be either: pregnant women, post-partum women (eligible for 6 months post partum), nursing women (eligible for one year post partum), children under 5 years of age.

3. Participants shall be eligible for the WIC Program only if they are members of families that satisfy the income standards prescribed for free and reduced price school meals under section 9 of the National School Lunch Act.

4. All participants must be at nutritional risk as determined by the Vermont Department of Health."
