Action 1

The fish and Wildlife Board adopts the following regulation by establishing an area closed to trespassing, fishing or hunting on public lands in the Town of Milton, County of Chittenden and State of Vermont:

Pursuant to provisions of Title 10, Part 4, Sections 4144 and 4148 of the Vermont Statutes Annotated, certain parts of lands owned by the State of Vermont under the jurisdiction of the Fish and Wildlife Department are hereby closed to fishing, trespassing or the taking of wild birds and wild animals. Fishing is allowed from shore only in the area known as Dead Creek Culvert located on U.S. Route 2 East of Sandbar State Park bounded by posters determining and indicating the open area. Said lands are situated in the Town of Milton, County of Chittenden and State of Vermont and further described as follows:

Being all of the land deeded to the State of Vermont by Sanford H. Thompson of Milton by his deed dated March 13, 1920 and recorded in Book 26, Page 1 of the Milton Land Records and the land deeded by Frederick H. Wells and H. Nelson Jackson of Burlington by their deed dated March 13, 1920 and recorded in Book 26, Pages 2 and 3 of the Milton Land Records, excepting those lots and parts of lots lying easterly of U.S. Route No. 2 and numbered 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21 and Lot No. 57 which is an island located near the mouth of the Lamoille River; and to include in said closed area the land deeded by the L. and L. Mott Home of South Hero through their agent, T.D. Landon, in a deed dated March 7, 1923, and recorded in Book 26, Page 514 of the Milton Land Records and land deeded by Henry Rowley of Shelburne by his deed dated July 29, 1926 and recorded in Book 27, pages 351 and 352 of the Milton Land Records and land in those parts of Lots 18, 32, and 33 which lies southerly and easterly of of U.S. Route No. 2 deeded by George and Lucia Savoy of Milton by their deed dated February 16, 1949 and recorded in Book 32, Page 56 and by their deed dated April 6, 1949 and recorded in Book 32, Page 80 of the Milton Land Records, and the land deeded by Clifton E. and Winona Lanphere of Milton by their deed dated May 6, 1962, and recorded in Vol. 36, Page 190 of the Milton Land Records.

Trespassing, fishing or the taking of wild birds and wild animals on the above described lands without permission of the Commissioner or his agent is hereby prohibited. These lands are posted and enclosed as the law directs.
