Section R909-2-16 - Oversize Divisible Load Provisions

(1) An oversize permit may be issued for moving a combination of vehicles and loads exceeding the legal limits under the following conditions:

(a) the height of the combination or load does not exceed 14 feet 6 inches;

(b) the width of the combination or load does not exceed 8 feet 6 inches;

(c) in multiple trailer combinations, a lighter trailer may not be placed in front of a heavier trailer when the weight difference is greater than 4,000 pounds; and

(d) drawbars exceeding 15 feet in length must be marked with retro-reflective tape on half of the entire length of the drawbar on both the left and right side of the drawbar.
(i) The drawbar must display an amber light visible from both the right and left side of the drawbar located near the center of the drawbar.
