Section R510-302-10 - Short Term Protective Need Intervention

An investigator may request protective intervention funding for an emergency shelter placement to alleviate the vulnerable adult's protective need. Emergency shelter placements may be made for up to 30 days within a 12 month period for a vulnerable adult who has been abused, neglected, or exploited only if:

(1) the vulnerable adult's circumstances require immediate alternate living arrangements in a safe environment;

(2) the vulnerable adult or legal guardian consents to the emergency shelter placement or a court order authorizes the placement;

(3) the vulnerable adult does not meet the eligibility requirements for shelter under the Family Violence program; and

(4) the emergency shelter has the required current licenses and certifications.
