Section R414-503-1 - Introduction and Authority

This rule implements 42 U.S.C. 1396 r(b)(3) and (e)(7) and Pub. L. No. 104 315, which require preadmission screening and resident review (PASRR) of nursing facility residents with serious mental illness or intellectual disability. This rule applies to all Medicare/Medicaid-certified nursing facility admissions irrespective of the payment source of an individual's nursing facility services.
