Rule R392-302 - Design, Construction and Operation of Public Pools
Section R392-302-6 - Water Supply

(1) The manager shall ensure that:
(a) the water supply
serving a public pool and any plumbing fixtures, including drinking fountains,
hand washing sinks, and showers, is designed, installed, and operated according
to the requirements set forth by:
(i) Plumbing
Code;
(ii) the Utah Department of
Environmental Quality, Division of Drinking Water under Title R309; and
(iii) local health department
regulations;
(b) any
portion of water supply, recirculation, and distribution system serving the
facility is protected against backflow; and
(c) water introduced into the pool, either
directly or through the circulation system, is supplied through a backflow
preventer that:
(i) protects against
contamination from back-siphonage or backpressure in accordance with the
Plumbing Code, such as an air gap or backflow prevention assembly;
and
(ii) is not connected to the
pool recirculation system on the discharge side of the pool recirculation
pump.
