Rule R156-60b - Marriage and Family Therapist Licensing Act Rule
Section R156-60b-303 - Renewal and Reinstatement of License

(1) Under Subsection 58-1-308(1), the renewal date for the two-year renewal cycle applicable to all licenses under Title 58, Chapter 60, Part 3, Marriage and Family Therapist Licensing Act, is established in Section R156-1-308a.
(2) Marriage and family therapist renewal and reinstatement procedures shall be in accordance with Sections R156-1-308a through R156-1-308l except as provided in Subsection R156-60b-303(3).
(3) Under Subsection 58-1-308(6)(a) and Section R156-1-308g, an applicant for reinstatement of licensure as a marriage and family therapist whose license has been expired over five years, shall upon request:
(a) meet with the Board to evaluate the
applicant's ability to safely and competently practice as a marriage and family
therapist; and
(b) if recommended
by the Board, complete one or more of the following:
(i) establish a plan of supervision under an
approved supervisor, which may include up to 3,000 hours of marriage and family
therapist experience and training as an AMFT before qualifying for
reinstatement of the MFT license;
(ii) retake and pass the Marital and Family
Therapy National Examination administered by the American Association of
Marriage and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards; or
(iii) complete up to 40 hours of continuing
education in subjects determined by the Board.
