Section R156-17b-303c - Qualifications for Licensure - Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician - Examinations

(1) Under Subsection 58-17b-303(1)(g), the examinations that shall be passed by an applicant for licensure as a pharmacist are:
(a) the NAPLEX with a passing
score established by NABP; and
(b)
the Utah Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) with a passing
score established by NABP.
(2)
(a) An
individual who has failed either examination three times shall meet with the
Board to request an additional authorization to test.
(b) The Division, in collaboration with the
Board, may require additional training as a condition for approval of an
authorization to retest.
(3) Under Subsection 58-17b-303(3)(i), an applicant for license by endorsement as a pharmacist shall pass the Utah MPJE.
(4)
(a) Under Subsection
58-17b-305(1)(f),
an applicant for licensure as a pharmacy technician shall pass the PTCB or
ExCPT with a passing score established by the certifying body.
(b) A PTCB or ExCPT certificate shall show a
valid date and that the certification is active.
(5) A graduate of a foreign pharmacy school shall obtain a passing score on the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) examination.
