This subchapter applies to an exclusive provider benefit plan (EPP) written by an issuer which has contracted with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide services under the Texas Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid or with the Statewide Rural Health Care System (the System). An issuer may only use an EPP in the System and/or by contract with HHSC for CHIP or Medicaid. This subchapter applies to new or renewed contracts on or after the effective date of this subchapter.
