Section 747.1401 - Must members of my household meet specific qualifications?

(a) For each household member that is 14 years of age or older the member must:

(1) Have a current record of a tuberculosis (TB) examination showing the caregiver is free of contagious TB, if required by the Texas Department of State Health Services or local health authority; and

(2) Complete orientation to your child-care home as specified in § 747.1403 of Title 40 (relating to What must orientation for household members at my child-care home include?).

(b) Any household member who is counted in the child/caregiver ratio on more than ten separate occasions in one training year, whether paid or unpaid, must meet the minimum qualifications for assistant caregivers and training requirements for caregivers as specified in this subchapter.

(c) Any household member who is left in charge of the child-care home in the absence of the primary caregiver, whether paid or unpaid, must meet the minimum qualifications for a substitute caregiver and training requirements for caregivers specified in this subchapter.

(d) A household member who is 14 years of age or older, but is not regularly or frequently present at the child-care home while children are in care, must never be left alone with a child in care, unless the household member meets the qualifications requirements for caregivers specified in this chapter.
