Section 746.2207 - May I use a screen time activity with a child?

(a) You may not use a screen time activity for a child under the age of two years.

(b) You may use a screen time activity to supplement, but not to replace, an activity for a child who is two years old or older that is described in § 746.2507 of this chapter (relating to What activities must I provide for a toddler ?); § 746.2607 of this chapter (relating to What activities must I provide for a pre-kindergarten-age child ?); and § 746.2707 of this chapter (relating to What activities must I provide for a school-age child ?).

(c) If you use a screen time activity for a child at the center , you must ensure that the activity :

(1) Is related to the planned activities that meet educational goals;

(2) Is age-appropriate;

(3) Does not exceed one hour per day;

(4) Is not used during mealtime, snack times, naptimes, or rest times;

(5) Does not include advertising or violence; and

(6) Is turned off when not in use.

(d) A school-age child may use screen time without restriction for homework.
