Chapter 196 - VOLUNTARY RELINQUISHMENT OR SURRENDER OF A MEDICAL LICENSE
Section 196.1 - Relinquishment of License

(a) Relinquishment by licensee.
(1) A licensee
may at any time voluntarily relinquish or request cancellation of his or her
license to practice medicine in Texas for any reason, without
compulsion.
(2) Requests to
relinquish or cancel a license must be submitted to the Board in
writing.
(b) Acceptance by the board. The board shall accept all voluntary relinquishment requests except when a licensee is under investigation or subject to disciplinary action by the board.
