Section 8.53 - Initiation of Consideration of Action

(a) An action to dissolve an inactive public community college district may be initiated:
(1) by the Commissioner of Higher
Education;
(2) by petition signed
by ten or more voting-eligible citizen residents in the district and delivered
to the Commissioner;
(3) by a
member of the Texas Legislature; or
(4) by any other party or individual
authorized by the Commissioner.
(b) The Commissioner shall provide timely written notice of an action to dissolve an inactive public community college district to the chair of the governing board of the district.
