Section 23.31 - Authority and Purpose

(a) Authority. Authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, Chapter 56, Subchapter O, Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program. These rules establish procedures to administer the subchapter as prescribed in the Texas Education Code, §§ 56.351 - 56.359.
(b) Purpose. The purpose of the Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program is to recruit and retain classroom teachers in communities and subjects for which there is an acute shortage of teachers in Texas.
