Section 21.521 - Eligible Peace Officers

To qualify, a Peace Officer must:

(1) be an undergraduate student enrolled in an eligible criminal justice or law enforcement-related degree or certificate program at the institution pursuant to this subchapter;

(2) apply for the exemption at least one week before the last day of the institution's regular registration period for that semester;

(3) be in compliance with the institution's financial aid satisfactory academic progress requirements, unless applying for a continuation exemption in fall 2014 or later and granted an exception under § 21.526(a) of this title (relating to Hardship Provisions);

(4) be employed as a peace officer by this state or by a political subdivision of this state; and

(5) unless attending a public community college (for which tuition is local revenue), provide the institution proof that the peace officer meets Selective Service registration requirements or is exempt.
