Section 10.213 - Eligibility

(a) To be eligible to apply for and receive funding under the program an institution of higher education shall:
(1) Meet the definition of
Texas institution of higher education as defined by Texas Education Code,
§
61.003(8),
or be a Center for Teacher Education at Jarvis Christian College, Paul Quinn
College, Texas College, Huston Tillotson University, or Wiley College; and
(2) Conduct research or
educational programs that address minority health issues; or
(3) Form partnerships with minority
organizations, colleges or universities to conduct research and educational
programs that address minority health issues.
(b) Each grant recipient shall:
(1) Conduct research and educational
initiatives, including those that expand existing research and degree programs,
and develop other new or existing activities and projects, which are not funded
by state appropriations during the funding period;
(2) Propose programs that do not conflict
with current judicial decisions and state interpretation on administering
minority programs in higher education; and
(3) Meet any other eligibility criteria set
forth in the RFA.
