Section 10.55 - Evaluation of Applications

(a) Applications for Family Practice Residency Program grants shall be reviewed and evaluated by the Family Practice Residency Advisory Committee.
(b) The Advisory Committee's review shall include the following:
(1) Evidence that the
proposed program will be able to effectively provide medical care in medically
underserved areas and training to family practice residency
physicians;
(2) Existing and
anticipated costs and funding for new and existing programs requesting funding;
and
(3) The program's performance
in:
(A) improving the distribution of family
physicians throughout the state;
(B) providing care to medically underserved
urban or medically underserved rural areas of Texas; and
(C) encouraging residents to practice in
medically underserved urban or medically underserved rural areas of the
state.
(c) The Advisory Committee shall submit their recommendations to the Board for approval and funding of Operational, Reimbursement and Faculty Support Grant Programs.
