Section 50.7 - Committees

(a) The council may assign committees to review, evaluate, consider, or analyze any legislation, suggestions, proposals, or other information on the council's behalf. The assigned committees may perform any function deemed necessary by the council. The results of any reviews or evaluations may be made in writing and submitted to the council.

(1) The council may consider the written recommendations, but shall not be bound by such recommendations.

(2) The council may vote to abolish a committee or change a committee's assignment.

(b) All committee chairs shall be nominated and elected by the council. Committee chairs may appoint committee members. Any state employee may be appointed to serve on a council committee, subject to approval of the executive director of that employee's agency.
