Section 2.1 - Definitions

The following words and terms when used in this chapter shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

(1) Agency--means the Texas State Library and Archives Commission as an agency of the state of Texas, including the staff, collections, archives, operations, programs, and property of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

(2) Commission--means the seven-member governing body of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

(3) Competitive grant--Any grant awarded by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission based on competition among eligible entities for available grant funds.

(4) Director and librarian--Chief executive and administrative officer of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

(5) State Archives--A non-circulating collection of Texas state and local government records, private papers, maps, photographs, newspapers, and published materials that documents the history of the State of Texas and the growth and actions of its government.
