Chapter 1540-01-07 - Outstanding Community Improvement Award Program
Section 1540-01-07-.02 - GENERAL

(1) Definitions. As used in these regulations (Chapter 1540-1-7):

(a) state college or university means any institution operated by the University of Tennessee or the Tennessee Board of Regents which offers courses of instruction beyond the high school level (hereinafter called "public institution").

(b) private college or university means any institution within the Tennessee Independent College and Universities association which offers courses of instruction beyond the high school level (hereinafter called "private institution").

(c) student is defined as any person enrolled part-time or full-time at a Tennessee public or private two- or four-year college or university.

(d) teacher is defined as any person on the faculty or staff at a Tennessee public or private two- or four-year college or university.

(e) community service is defined as including volunteer work, public service, and charitable service, and leadership roles in community organizations.

(f) recognition program is defined as an annual program through which outstanding students and faculty are recognized for community service.
