As an alternative to disciplinary action or as a part of disciplinary action, the Board may refer or mandate a licensee to utilize the services of a professional assistance program approved by the Board to assess and monitor issues of substance abuse, chemical abuse, co-dependency issues, mental fitness, or lapses in professional or ethical judgments.
