Title IV-A, Section 402(a)(22) of the Social Security Act and 45 CFR 233.20(a)(13) require prompt recovery of overpayments and correction of underpayments. The law provides for criminal prosecution of individuals who fraudulently receive Families First benefits to which they are not entitled.
