Section 0800-01-09-.07 - Hazardous Chemical Education and Training

Employers shall provide employees with information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new hazard is introduced into their work area, pursuant to 29 CFR 1910.1200. Refresher training shall be provided at least annually thereafter.

(4) Manufacturing and nonmanufacturing employers shall maintain records of training conducted pursuant to this rule. Such records shall be made available to the Commissioner and his agents upon request and shall contain, as a minimum:

(a) Identification (by name, SSN, clock number, or other method) of the employee to whom training was given;

(b) The date(s) of training; and

(c) A brief description of the training given [e.g., symptoms of CO (carbon monoxide) poisoning, H2SO4 (sulfuric acid) emergency procedures, etc.].
