Section 0520-07-02-.09 - REQUIREMENTS FOR 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY

(1) Pursuant to the Governor's Executive Orders of the year 2020 declaring the existence of a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19 and Public Chapter 652 of 2020:
(a) An approved Category I or II private
school shall not be required to administer Tennessee comprehensive assessment
program ("TCAP") tests or a nationally standardized achievement test if such
tests were scheduled to occur in the spring semester of the 2019-20 school
year.
(b) Approved Category I or II
private schools required to comply with the same number of instructional days
as Tennessee public schools shall not be required to comply with the 180
instructional day requirement in the 2019-20 school year if the private school
was unable to meet the 180 day requirement due to school closures as a result
of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
(c) For students scheduled to graduate from
high school in the 2019-20 school year, approved private schools required to
meet the same minimum requirements for high school graduation as Tennessee
public schools shall be subject to the amended requirements outlined in State
Board Emergency Rule 0520-01-03-.11.
