Chapter 0400-40-14 - Pretreatment Requirements
Section 0400-40-14-.01 - PURPOSE AND APPLICABILITY

(1) This chapter establishes responsibilities of State and local government, industry, and the public to implement National Pretreatment Standards to control pollutants that pass through or interfere with treatment processes in domestic wastewater facilities (WWF) or that may contaminate sewage sludge.
(2) This chapter applies:
(a) To pollutants from non-domestic sources
covered by Pretreatment Standards that are discharged into or transported by
truck or rail or otherwise introduced into WWFs as defined in Rule
0400-40-14-.03;
(b) To WWFs that receive wastewater from
sources subject to National Pretreatment Standards; and
(c) To any new or existing source subject to
Pretreatment Standards.
National Pretreatment Standards do not apply to sources that discharge to a sewer that is not connected to a WWF Treatment Plant.
(3) Electronic Reporting
(a) This chapter
requires the submission of forms developed by the Commissioner for a person to
comply with certain requirements, including, but not limited to, making reports
and submitting monitoring results. The Commissioner may make these forms
available electronically and, if submitted electronically, then that electronic
submission shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 0400-01-40.
(b) Electronic submission of documents in
subparagraph (a) of this paragraph is required when available unless waived by
the Commissioner in accordance with
40 C.F.R. §
127.15.
