Chapter 0260-03 - General Rules Governing Chiropractic X-Ray Technologists
Section 0260-03-.02 - SCOPE OF PRACTICE

(1) Any person who possesses a valid unsuspended and unrevoked certificate may use the title "certified chiropractic x-ray technologist." No other person shall use this title, represent themselves as a certified chiropractic x-ray technologist, or hold themselves out to the public as being certified by means of using the title on any work, letter, sign, figure, mailboxes, address plates, stationary, announcements, telephone listings, calling cards, advertisement, other instruments of professional identification, or device to indicate that the person is a certified chiropractic x-ray technologist. Work performed utilizing the title of "certified chiropractic x-ray technologist" includes chiropractic x-ray technologist advice and services, specifically and only on orders by a Physician.

(2) Supervision of Certificate Holders

(a) Individuals who are issued a certificate to serve as a chiropractic x-ray technologist must act only on orders by a Physician.

(b) The employing licensed chiropractic physician(s), or a licensed chiropractic physician designated by the employing chiropractic physician(s) as a substitute supervisor, shall exercise close supervision and assume full control and responsibility for the services provided by any person certified as a chiropractic x-ray technologist and employed in the chiropractic physician(s') practice. This supervision, control and responsibility does not require the physical presence of the chiropractic physician(s) at all times at the site where the services are being provided. However, it does require that the chiropractic physician(s) have his/her primary practice physically located within the boundaries of the state of Tennessee and that he/she shall be available by phone or other electronic means and able to be physically present at the site where the services are being provided within a reasonable amount of time.
