The term "disqualification for life" means a period of ten years. This ten-year period applies to a disqualification for life that was imposed pursuant to the provisions of SDCL 32-12A-37. A disqualification for life imposed pursuant to the provisions of SDCL 32-12A-38 may not be reduced to ten years.
